personal.xls locked for editing
I've recently created macros in Excel that are stored in personal.xls. It
might be because it never happened that I opened two instances of Excel since I've created these macros (although I doubt it), but every time I open two or more instances of Excel, I get the message that the personal.xls file is locked for editing by myself. Is there a way to go around this or do I have to live with it, considering that I need the macros to be available in all Excel files I open? Thanks. |

If you mark the file Readonly (using windows explorer), then you won't get the
message. But you won't be able to change the file in that state, either. Gaetan wrote: I've recently created macros in Excel that are stored in personal.xls. One way or the other, this is a problem.

Gaetan
Only a problem if you have more than one instance of Excel running. What is the purpose for that? Personally, I don't directly edit my macros in my personal.xl* file. I
experiment in another workbook. When I'm happy, I'll put the new/updated macro into my personal.xl* file. Since I don't do this very often, I can make sure that the file is not marked readonly and I only have one instance of excel open. Gaetan wrote: One way or the other, this is a problem.
