Hi,
What kind of data are you typing in and what exactly is it changing into? Regards! Excel has some built-in features to "help" you, mostly with numbers. For
example, you type in 3/6 and Excel thinks you mean March 6, 2007, so it converts it automatically for you. However, this is not always "helpful," so you can do a couple of things to fix it. 1) You can type in the data with an apostrophe as the first character. So instead of typing 3/6, you'd type '3/6 and then Excel will leave it just like you typed it (but the apostrophe is hidden) 2) You can format the cells as something other than "General" so that you are telling Excel what kind of information you'll be putting in those cells. In my example above, you could go to the cell causing trouble (and any beneath it that you'll need) and go to Format-Cells and select "Text" from the drop-down list. Hope that helps. -KC -- Please remember to indicate when the post is answered so others can benefit from it later.
