sorting data
I have sorted data by a-z but it will not add the new data I am putting in. I
would like to be able to add things daily and sort it at the end of the day. How do I do that. -- sld |
sorting data
Sort only sorts the list at that point in time. It does not auto-refresh
when new information is added. You have to manually run the sort function again when desired. If you are using Excel 2003, you could convert your data to a list by selecting your current dataset and going to Data-List-Create List. If you have headers, check the box saying you have headers. Now when you click the topmost cell in any column of the list, there's a drop down box available to filter or sort. At the end of the list is a blue asterisk...this is where you add new records that are to be part of the list. This way when you go to sort next time, the new data will be included. -- Please remember to indicate when the post is answered so others can benefit from it later.
