Is there a template for a home improvement project overview?

I'm looking for a template that will let me divide my home improvements into
exterior and interior, then subdivide each of those into specific areas.
Then, I'd want to subdivide specific areas into specific improvements,
estimated costs, actual costs and using subtotals for each specific area.
For example: interior--half bath--flooring; interior--half bath--sink;
interior--half bath--paint, etc. I know enough about Excel to set up the
table but I don't know how to add the formulas so that I can get a subtotal
for the half bath, for instance, and then another subtotal for all interior
projects and all exterior projects, with a final total for each of these and
one grand total. I hope this makes sense. If anyone can help me set this up
or knows of a template already set up that I could modify, I'd appreciate it.

there maybe fancier ways,but all I would do is have a subtotla at the bottom
of each area.In the next column I would have my two (or whatever)
subtotals.In the next column have the sums for the total.I think this would
make for an easy to read sheet,in that all the subtotals and totals could be
in a area of the sheet that would be on the scree all toghether,i would
imagin e the list of all areas would be many rows,but obviuosly the subtotals
could be in say the first twent y rows at the top of the sheet
