How do I convert an Excel 2003 file to ASCII format?
 

I need to convert an Excel 2003 spreadsheet to ASCII format. This does not
appear as an option when I go to "Save As". Your insight would be
appreciated.

Pat,

You need to save it as a text file. In the "Save as type" box, select one
of the CSV or TXT types. To see what's been saved, open it with Notepad.
Reopening it in Excel will cause some stuff to appear differently, as Excel
likes to apply formatting, sometimes quite inappropriately, to the data.
