Extending the number of lines in a worksheet
Sometime ago I had a macro that would automatically add lines in a worksheet
if the file being imported was larger than the worksheet. I have since lost that macro. Does anyone know what it is? |

You cannot add more rows than Excel allows, which is 65536 unless you're running 2007 which allows just over 1 million. There is a macro that splits the imported data over more than one sheet if too much for one sheet. Perhaps that is the one you thinking of? http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q120596 Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Fri, 19 Jan 2007 12:30:11 -0800, Deborah wrote: Sometime ago I had a macro that would automatically add lines in a worksheet if the file being imported was larger than the worksheet. You cannot exceed Excel's 64K row limit. That is hard limit that cannot be
changed, macro or no macro. If you are importing large files, you'll have to split them across multiple worksheets. See http://www.cpearson.com/excel/ImportBigFiles.htm for complete VBA code to automate this. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com (email address is on the web site) "Deborah" wrote in message ...
