Display date as 06/08 (m,yy) without year changing back to 07?

I am trying to enter dates in an excel sheet, showing them as month/year.
June, 2008 would show as 06/08. No matter what format I use, the year in my
entry is changed back to the current year, or 6/07. What am I doing wrong?

I'll look into it more but it is strange, with anything you choose is is
using your year as the day, in the mean time entering the 4 digit year seems
to fix it.

You could enter the date as 6/1/2008 and format the cell for Custom m/y

Or, you could enter as TEXT by typing '06/08 (preceeding it with an
apostrophe automatically converts it to text.)

Hi,

If you enter a 2 part date with only a 2 digit year then excel will presume
you mean month/day and automatically inputs the current year to the
date.....try specifying the year with 4 digits.
