Hello,
I have a great deal of text within a cell (several paragraphs). The text is extending beyond the right and bottom borders of the cell, despite the fact that I have "Wrap Text" checked in Format Cells. Changing the size of the text isn't really an option, as this is for an important investigative document. Could anyone please advise a solution? Thank you for your time. |

If there is nothing to the right or bottom, your words will "leak"into them,
try putting a space in each of those cells and see if it resolves your problem. -- -- -John Please rate when your question is answered to help us and others know what is helpful. XL only displays about 1,000 characters in a cell:

You sure you have wrap text turned on. I've never seen excel fill the cell to
the right when that formatting option was turned on. And I've never seen excel fill the cell below either--no matter the format. But I can see more than the 1000 (or so) characters that are in a cell by adding alt-enters (to force new lines within the cell) every 80-100 characters. Alt&Enter is fine unless the appearance of the text needs to be OK both on
screen and when printed (forced breaks using Alt&Enter can appear in the 'wrong' place when the sheet is peinted). If this is the case, copy your text into a text box, and drag the borders of the text box to exactly the same width and height as your merged cells. You can use format text box to remove the border if required. -- Bertie C "Dave Peterson" wrote: You sure you have wrap text turned on.
