drag and drop will not turn off - keeps selecting all data
 

When I click in any excel sheet, it seems to turn in to a selection. When I
move the mouse around the sheet it continues to trak. If I use the mouse to
click, to stop, nothing happens... no matter what I do it will continue this
highlighting of cells. If I do not click in cells.. I can use the arrow
buttons, but once I click any where... that is the home cell, and when I move
the mouse it selects where ever it is pointed to. How can I change this? I
have turned the drag and drop off. I have used with pad and with mouse...
same issue.

Hit F8 to toggle Extended mode off.
