large excel file

hi,
i'm working with 7900 kb excel file.
i know there is a limit of the file size.
is there any option to "clean" the file? it had a lot of details but it
probably include some junk links, names, formats of deleted lines... is there
any clean tool?
thanks in advance...

8Mb is a large file but not nearing the capacity of Excel. The limits are
65,536 rows, 256 columns, the amount of hard disk space and, to some extent,
the speed of the processor.

If you're concerned about the speed of operation this depends not only on
the size of the files but the amount of formulae. I have a large file which
opens quite quickly and a much smaller file which is crammed with formulae
to be ralculated when opened which takes much longer.

Cleaning a spreadsheet file is a very personal thing depending on what
information is included and what YOU can justify to yourself as not wanted -
but remember once it's gone, it's gone. Once you've deleted unwanted
columns I would suggest you sort rows so that you can bring together any you
don't want (e.g. everyone living in a particular town) and delete the rows
together. You could, then delete all columns to the right of the last known
column and all rows below the last known row to make sure that nothing is
lurking in what is supposed to be an empty area.

Regards.
