I want to scroll up for new cells, not down
In Excel, the new blank rows appear at the bottom of the worksheet, but this
isn't convenient to me because I am using the program for a daily log of incoming inventory. I've figured out how to lock the top row of cells so that my column headings are visible as I scroll down, but what I really prefer to do is have my earliest entries be the bottom of the list and my most recent at the top without having to insert rows at top all the time. Is there a way to alter a worksheet so that the infinite field is at the top and not the bottom of the worksheet? Can I keep my column headings locked so that they consistently appear at the top despite this direction change? |

How about a nice worksheet_change macro that when the last cell on the current row is filled in auto inserts a row ready for the next entry? -- Don Guillett SalesAid Software "Catacalycticoo" wrote in message ... Go to the bottom of the worksheet (or as far as you feel you need)
Enter the new data in the last row; when the last cell is finished tap the UP and the HOME keys to move to column A of the next row up. How about
Assuming the incoming log is never more than 1000 rows deep, label is in row1 automate this: insert 1000 rows after row1; import new log to row2 down; work from last row up, delete blank rows -- Regards "Catacalycticoo" wrote in message ... Hi
Why not have a second sheet with your Headers in Row 1 and Freeze Panes set at A2. Import all your new data to the bottom of sheet1 On sheet2 in cell A2 enter =INDEX(Sheet1!A:A,COUNTA(Sheet1!A:A)-ROW(A1)+1) Copy across for as many columns as you require, then copy the whole row down as far as required On Sheet2 your latest entries will be at the top - working backwards -- Regards Roger Govier "Catacalycticoo" wrote in message ...
