Default How do I create a formula to subtract on a spreadsheet

I am trying to subtract numbers. I need a formula that will help me do this.
I am tracking vacation time for my employee's. So in this spreed sheets I
will have letters as well as numbers. Help!!
Example
A B C D
156 100 25 results.

It's not clear what you want your results to be.

In any event, if you're subtracting numbers just do something like =1-243,
etc. -242 would be the result.

If you're subtracting cell references, do =A1-B1 etc.
