Auto Sum
I have a column of #'s I'm trying to total. The auto sum command just leaves
me the formula but not the actual total. Also, I can't do anything with the numbers, like format them at all. Any ideas? Thnx -- Dixie |

Did you copy the numbers from, say, .html?
That can sometimes mess up formatting if so, in another column, multiply this column *1. This will cause the cells to be formatted as numbers. then, try to sum this new column. Format all to General or Number then copy an empty cell. Select your data range and Paste Special(in place)AddOKEsc. Or run the range through the DataText to Columns Wizard making sure at third step the Column Data Format is set to General(default). Also make sure that the cell where you place the =SUM(range) is not formatted as text. I figured out that CTRL ~ cleared it up.
I did this at the bottom of the column and then it calculated and let me format the numbers. Apparently it was set to Show Formula Mode -- Dixie "Sean Timmons" wrote: Did you copy the numbers from, say, .html?
