Hi,
Is anyone here familiar with SmartExcel. If so, is it recommended by this
group (or some members)? This is new to me. I happen to run across it on a
Google search. The URL is http://www.smartexcel.com/ If you guys like it I
will purchase a copy to see if it will help me better understand Excel.

Never heard of it. Looks like a crutch to me. There may be a learning
curve to Excel but it's worth scaling. Just my opinion.

There was a link to a 2 week trial period download.
You may want to try before you buy.

(I didn't try it.)

And before you make a decision, you may want to visit your local bookstore and
see if one of the excel books is a better fit for you.

If you're looking at writing formulas, John Walkenbach's book gets good
reviews.

For VBA:
John Walkenbach's (another book) is a nice one to start with. I think that
John Green (and others) is nice, too (for a second book??). See if you can
find them in your local bookstore and you can choose what one you like best.

Debra Dalgleish keeps a nice list of books at:

Maybe print that list before going to the bookstore.
