How do I get excel to start a numberwith a zero as in a zip co
Thanks Mike BUT if I format as text then the number may not be recognized as
a number and therefore will not produce the postal codes, ditto if i procede with an apostrophe. I did find a way though that works fine - highlight the column in which the zip goes and then under FORMAT - CELLS - SPECIAL - ZIP CODE TYPE ok. That will work if all you need if ZIP + 4
Zip Codes or parts of Zip codes are not used as numbers so preceding with an apostrophe or pre-formatting to text has no deleterious effect.
