Copying Worksheets with Validations - Response Time
 

I am using Excel 2003 and have a worksheet of about 500 rows and 20 columns
with about 20 validation lists contained in another worksheet associated with
each column(same workbook). We split out pieces and send them to several
people to update. When they are returned, we combine the files to create a
master. However, when we do this, we find that that Excel hangs up or takes
a very long time to process when we try to manipulate the file by using the
filter function for example - - almost as if it's looking for a list in
another location. Are there rules, limits or warnings that need to be
observed with respect to creating and copying validation lists that I have
overlooked and need to consider or is there something else involved that may
be causing the system to hang up?
