How do I export to word without getting strange spacing and tabs

I am trying to export an excel file containing 400 words each on its own line
to Word. However I try I get starange spacing and tabs in the Word file and
I do not want to have to go through 4000 lines deleting all this stuff.

Could it be that you're seeing a table that's created in word?

If I don't want a table, I'll copy the range in excel and then inside word:
Edit|Paste special|and check Unformatted text.

(Sometimes, I'll paste to Notepad and then copy|paste from there when I can't
remember!)
