how do i convert a set of numbers represented in non-US format, n.nnn.nnn, to
US format n,nnn,nnn?

On the surface this seems like a routine formatting issue. Is there
more to the problem than that, perhaps a datafile that's hardcoded in
the non-US format?

Use Edit-Replace to replace all decimals with nothing (leave replace blank)
and hit replace all. Then change the format to add the commas in.
