How to change to the Indian Number System?
i have found this reply on the web in several forums already, and unfortunately it does not work. the sample number 24270306 (or 24.270.306 in regular format) will change to ,2,4.2,70.306 if the suggested custom format is applied. suggested format: [=10000000]##\,##\,##\,##0.00;[=100000]##\,##\,##0.00;##,##0.00 any ideas what the problem is? -- nicolasontheroad ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nicolasontheroad's Profile: http://www.officehelp.in/member.php?userid=5493 View this thread: http://www.officehelp.in/showthread.php?t=1284333 Posted from - http://www.officehelp.in |

Must be something to do with your regional settings, because it shows as
2,42,70,306 for me which is correct as I understand the Indian numbering system. Maybe you need [=10000000]##\.##\.##\.##0,00;[=100000]##\.##\.##0,00;##.##0,00 -- --- HTH Bob (change the xxxx to gmail if mailing direct) "nicolasontheroad" wrote in message ... i have found this reply on the web in several forums already, and unfortunately it does not work. the sample number 24270306 (or 24.270.306 in regular format) will change to ,2,4.2,70.306 if the suggested custom format is applied. suggested format: [=10000000]##\,##\,##\,##0.00;[=100000]##\,##\,##0.00;##,##0.00 any ideas what the problem is? -- nicolasontheroad ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nicolasontheroad's Profile: http://www.officehelp.in/member.php?userid=5493 View this thread: http://www.officehelp.in/showthread.php?t=1284333 Posted from - http://www.officehelp.in |
How to change to the Indian Number System?
hello bob, excellent, your second suggestion worked! there is just one little problem left: numbers below 100.000 will vanish from the sheet if this formula is applied. is it possible to expand the formula, so e.g. 35.000 will be properly displayed? meanwhile, thank you very much, nic -- nicolasontheroad ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nicolasontheroad's Profile: http://www.officehelp.in/member.php?userid=5493 View this thread: http://www.officehelp.in/showthread.php?t=1284333 Posted from - http://www.officehelp.in |
