It's not clear from your post what your question is. Post the formula you're
using that returns the #VALUE! error.

Don't use that cell for calculations.

Or use a formula that gives "rest" a value.

=IF(A1="rest", 10*A2,A1*A2)

If you posted a sample of your formula that you're using perhaps someone could
offer an alternative.
