mail merge from XL to word
 

I am merging addresses ifrom Office XL2003 into a Office Word 2003. The
column of UK postcodes (Zip codes) transfers to the word doc. as 0 where
there is entry includes text. Pure number zip codes transfer in full.
I have been using the system for some years, but have not had this challenge
before.

In the Excel document, use a helper column (Say post codes are in D)

=TEXT(D1,"@")

and copy down. Now copy these new postcodes and paste special+Values and
number formats over the original ones...this should fix it
