Sounds like the cell is formatted to text. Reformat the cell to number and
type it in again. Format|Cell then select the number tab and choose number. "rahrah3a" wrote: when I type in a formula, by example =2+4 and hit enter, the cell displays the text of =2+4 and does not resolve into a 6. How can I correct? |

![]() Try going up in the formula bar and deleting the equal sign and hit enter.....then replace the equal sign and hit enter again.......... Possibly the cell was pre-formatted as TEXT. Thank you. Simply formating the cell to a number did not work, deleting the
equal and re-adding it worked perfectly. Thanks! "CLR" wrote: Try going up in the formula bar and deleting the equal sign and hit enter.....then replace the equal sign and hit enter again..........
