Data Validation problem
Hi I have a problem with data validation, I have cells on a worksheet
restricted to a text length of 6 however if someone types AAAAA9 into cell A2 and fils formula down it then puts in AAAAA10,AAAAA11...etc, which is then invalid data however excel doesn't stop this. Is there a way to either: a) make excel validate this, or b) disable the fill formula function but only for this template. I am using Excel 2003. Thanks for any advice you can give me. Stu |

Goto ToolsOptionsEdit, and uncheck the ALlow Drag and Drop box.

Data Validation problem
Hi Bob, thanks for the quick response. this isn't really an option I could
use as it disables that function for all workbooks I open and only on my machine, the real problem is with other people entering data on the template and using this. Is there a way to either: a) make excel validate this, or b) disable the fill formula function but only for this template.
