When I copy data from a web site and try to paste it into Excel, the
spreadsheet displays the data vertically down the sheet, not horizontally
across the sheet. I've tried formatting cells using the alignment options,
but to no avail. Help!!

I copied from my watch portfolio on yahoo finance......there are five columns that display....trade, symbol, change, %change, and name. When I copy them and try to paste into Excel, they display in column A of the spreadsheet vertically down the page instead of the way they are displayed in yahoo ( left to right and down the page vertically). When I tried all 3 paste special options, the text option works the best, though the data needs two rows to display. As you suggest, it is probably best that you "see" the data. Could I send you the link that shows you what I'm talking about?

I've run across that problem and it appears that the formulas were'nt on one
line. What I do when I run across this is to copy it to Notepad, and if it
doesn't appear on one line, I put the cursor at the end of the first line and
hit the delete key (and do so with any additional lines. After that, I
simply copy from Notepad and paste into Excel. Problem solved.
