Try DataValidationAllowText lengthless than or equal your_number -- Regards Roger Govier "Sara Stone" wrote in message ... Hello, Is there a way to limit the number of characters that can be entered into a cell without created a text box and doing it that way? Thanks. |

Sara:
I belive that the simple way is with data validation, enter the greatest entries by stating 100 max or 1000 and that would allow the number of characters and allows you to use Input, Error messages.
