Can microsoft excel be used as a loan servicing software?

I am using Microsoft Office 2003 and need a good loan servicing software
program.
Can Excel be modified to do this?
Are there any existing forms or templates?
If Excel cannot be modified what is the best soluiton to service approx 300
loans?
