cell is reinserting a formula in even after deleting it. Why
 
When typing into a cell on the left the cell on the right is placing in a
formula, even after deleting this formula it re-appears. This is happening
in a few places on the spreadsheet. It always appears underneath a row of
forumlas, the following row is not effected by this.

Use Tools | Options... Edit tab, uncheck "Extend list formats and formulas"
