why do all excel worksheets/workbooks close when I close one?
 

I want to keep open the worksheet/workbook I am working on. I have to open
others up for information and then when I close one they all close. Is there
any way to change this function?

Yes, the little 'x' in the top right hand corner will close the Excel
program there is a smaller 'x' just underneath it, use that to close a
workbook.
