When I try to type in any cell in excel 2007 the first character gos off,
only allow one character per cell.

Did you ever figure this out. I have the same problem and cannot seem to
get around it. Also, does your Excel Options open? Mine does not.

Another symptom I found is when I add a sticky note to an Excel sheet, it
puts my name on the note automatically. Every keystroke I press to add text,
just backspaces until my name is erased.
