Changing a Data Source in Excel 2000
I've got a problem where I've changed servers and the ODBC data source that
the Excel file was created with. Now all I want to do is change the data source, but the program won't let me. I've even tried modifying the connection information I can see within the XLS file in Notepad, but it isn't being saved right and Excel won't open it up. When I click on a cell and tell it to refresh data I get an error message, and then a window pops up asking me to select a data source. I select the valid one, but it still hangs and returns an error message. If I try to edit the query and maybe changes things from within there, I can't get to the Query page because it hangs and returns the same error. I don't want to have to tell the user to recreate the worksheet. It seems like it should be an easy fix, but I can't figure this out for the life of me. This happen to anyone else? |
