my pivot table does not count all intances of a text string
Hi, I am new to Pivot tables. I created a pivot table based on a 15 column
table in a worksheet. There are 4 types of text strings that are repeated in one of the columns. My pivot table display the 4 string types and reports the count of each type. But it does not count the text strings in 14 adjacent rows. It counts the strings in all the oher rows, just not these 14. Tried refreshing the data still did not work, retyped the strings does not work. Your help is much appreciated |

Are the rows at the end of the source table? Maybe they aren't included
in the pivot table source range. If that's the problem, you could use a dynamic range as the source, and it will automatically expand to include new rows. Thanks Debra. I found that the columnn at the head of the row whose status i
was counting in the status row was blank. I have fixed the problem and now get the correct results "Debra Dalgleish" wrote: Are the rows at the end of the source table?
