I am wondering whether any of you can help me out.
I am having a problem with the filter function in excel. Recently some of the info I am adding to my excel sheet will not appear when I use filters. However if I go searching for another cell in the same row it can find them. I have sent it onto a few friends who can't figure it out either. Eg If I use the drop down filter look for the info in B12 it won't appear but if I look for info in C12 then it does appear. Now he is the other kicker. If I use the custom filter option I have tried copying and pasting that particular column to another sheet and it still won't work. There are no formulae in this particular column either. I have used much bigger lists and never had this problem. Maybe if I could e-mail it to someone who can look through it that would be great. My head is wrecked. Cheers Damo |

What kind of data are you talking about? Numbers? Text? Do you have
leading or folllowing blank spaces in the data that is not showing up? "Damo McL" wrote: I am wondering whether any of you can help me out. I am having a problem with the filter function in excel. ![]() Its text. Namely address's. A friend of mine gave me the answer. Filter lists can only have 1000 unique pieces of data in it. So I have to split the list. Its every frustrating. Looks like I'll be moving to access for this. Excel just doesn't have enough capabilities for data storage "tim m" wrote: What kind of data are you talking about? Numbers? Text?
