Cell shading with colored patterns

I'm probably overlooking something simple...

I know how to do cell shading, and I know how to do patterns. But what I'm
looking for is for the patterns to be in color.

For example, I'd like a diagonal line pattern, so that the background color
is white and the lines are blue. I can manage to get background color blue,
but the diagonal lines are black, which is not what I'm aiming for.

Thanks.

Where you select the pattern you want, if you look below there are colors.
Selecting a color turns the pattern that color.

This applies to Excel 2003.
