How do you insert unicode characters that have no DOS equivalent. For
example, how would I insert a lambda in a cell? The unicode is U + 03BB. Typing this has no effect. wazooli |

Three ways:
a) type a lower case L and format as Symbol (still ASCII) b) Use Insert Symbol if you have newer version of Excel - and make a short cut for future use(true Unicode) c) Make symbol in Word and use Copy & Paste It is not "DOS equivalent" but "ASCII equivalent" best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email "Wazooli" wrote in message ...
