The formula shows in cell but not the result
Hi, I received a read-only excel spreadsheet with information that I needed
to perform a Vlookup. I copied the excel spreadsheet over to a new workbook in order to save the integrity of the original spreadsheet. The new sheet does not show protection "Tools/Protection", but when I type in the VLOOKUP formula, the formula appears in the cell, not the results. I have changed the cell format from text to general, with no results. I also tested the count function and this also shows the formula and not the results. Does anyone know what may be going on with this worksheet causing it to not display results, but rather the formula itself. |

After changing the format from text to general, you need to re-enter the
formula. Simply selecting the cell, pressing F2, and then Enter should do it. "Susan" wrote: Hi, I received a read-only excel spreadsheet with information that I needed to perform a Vlookup.
