Cannot open the specified file

I have a user that is trying to click on a hyperlink in Excel that points to
another spreadsheet. I did verify that the file exists in the correct
location, but Excel presents him with the error, "Cannot open the specified
file." Could it possibly be that he is working off of a thumb drive?
