Disable Close all Windows

I often have many Excel workbooks open and when I'm working quickly, I
usually hit the red X when I just want to close one (out of habit). This
closes all the workbooks, and while I am fortunately reminded when the save
prompt comes up, it is still very annoying. Is there any way to disable this
feature so that it only closes the active workbook?

You could simply click the "X" *UNDER* the red X to close the active WB.

However, what I have done for myself, is place the "close" icon on the left
side of my toolbar.
It becomes second nature after a while, to go LEFT to "close" and go RIGHT
to "exit" XL.
