Improving Recalculation Speed for Complex Links
 

Hi.

One of our staff has a series of six interconnected Excel files, all of
which have multiple sheets and are large in size. In the morning
modifications to the sheets work OK but later in the day when a cell is
changed the recalculation can take around 20 seconds each time. We don't want
to turn off recalculation and there doesn't seem to be any external factors
affecting system performance.

Any clues as to how to achieve consistent and timely recalcuation ?
