Preserve Excel page settings
 

I am trying to e-mail an Excel sheet which is set to one page wide in print
settings. When I send it by E-Mail it displays fine but the settings no
longer keep it to one page wide. As a result the right part of the sheet does
not print as it is off the margin.

Have not been able to find any way to set this or preserve the settings.

I think that when your recipient opens it, the settings revert to the
local machine settings. So the recipient has to re-set the print
settings. (I think.....)

I am not attaching the sheet as I do not want the formulas and links to be
seen.

What I have tried is File -- Send to which inserts the page contents into
the e-mail message. It displays nicely but when the recipient prints it from
their mail box the oringinal page settings are no longer recognized.

There do not appear to be similar page settings available in Outlook or
IE....so much for integration of applications. :(

That's because the email client on the recipient's side uses different
print settings to Excel. If it's OE, the settings used are that of IE.
Not sure about Outlook though.......

Thanks for your feedback. This is what I assumed was causing the problem.

I have tried various other alternatives. The worksheet is a highly formatted
summary of data calculated on other sheets within the workbook. I tried
copying the sheet to a new workbook by right clicking the tab and clicking on
Create a Copy. The problem is it creates a new workbook linked back to the
original. When the recipient opens it the links are still there but the
source is not.

This is a quotation and I want this to look perfect without the recipient
having to do any formatting....any ideas?

It gets Right, I suspect the only way to do this properly is to copy the
sheet to a new workbook and send as an attachment. The problem is the
formatting gets lost when I copy to a new workbook.

Once you have made a copy of the sheet, select the whole sheet and do a
Copy-Paste special-values. That will get rid of the links.
