Default How can I format a Date?

I have a spreadsheet that contains a column for the date. Some users input
the date as: 23/10/06, some as 23.10.06 some as 231006 and some as 23-10-06

Is there a way that no matter how they enter it, it will be accepted and
converted to the 23/10/06 version?

Hi Keith,

The easiest thing todo is to turn on data validation which will only allow
them to enter a date in the correct formas (either 23/10/06 or 23-10-06)

Is it not as simple as selecting the whole column, right-clicking Format
Cells Number Date and then formatting to what you want. Save the sheet
and every time a date is entered it has the same formatting.

PS - a quick easy way of entering a date is just "1nov" (without the
quotes). This will put that date in the current year in the correct format :)
