This solution may not be maintainable by several, but if you are the primary
user it does work. Straight imports do imply position in the spreadsheet
from position in the file. But if you make an XML data file, you can map the
"tag/element"s from the XML data file to any individual cell on any sheet.
You must gain at least a beginners ability to understand XML formattting
(cake!) and get you accounting software to export XML. After you have the
XML file, you simple select it as a "source" under the DataXML menu, then
drag-and-drop the XML tags into the appropriate cells. This mapping will be
saved in the spreadsheet, and you can simply double-click any XML file with
the same tags/elements to populate your "disparately located" cells.

A book on XML and on how Excel uses XML will give you more details than I
can give you here.
