How to work out annualized % returns
I expect there is a function in Excel which does this, but I have been
investing for over ten years and I know how much per month; and I know how much the value of my investment is now worth. How do I work out how much I have made per year? Can anyone advise me - please! |

Maybe the IRR function would help. When setting up the values, pretend that you cashed in the investment today; i.e., that you withdrew what the investment is now worth. |

If you invested the same amount every period, use the Rate function.
If you invested varying amounts every period, use the IRR function. If you invested varying amounts irregularly, use the XIRR function. Most people like XIRR once they've created the data, because having the actual dates is easier to follow. -- Regards, Fred "Kevin" wrote in message ...
