Paste problem
I had a heavy computer crash due to a faulty RAM and so I had to
reinstall everything (Windows 2000 SP4 and Office XP SP3). Everything works perfectly now except for a strange behavior of copy-paste. When I copy a cell with a formula and paste it into another cell in the same sheet, Excel now copies only the value without the formula! In Paste Special I get only the options between Unicode and Text. Also Format Painter doesn't copy any formats anymore. The formulas are copied regularly only when I drag the small square bottom right of the cell. I uninstalled Office and reinstalled it but nothing changed. Somebody can please tell me how this problem could be solved? Thank you for your help. Horst |
Paste problem
This behaviour is indicative of having two instances of Excel open at the same
time. Close one instance and open both workbooks in one instance. Things should go better for you. After doing this, go to ToolsOptionsGeneral and uncheck "ignore other applications". Paste problem
Thank you for your suggestions, but I have found the cause.
I had running a small prog HovText which is supposed to copy a text without any format. I didn't think of it as it should activate pressing Ctrl+Alt+C, but it seems that it reacts to a simple Ctrl+C in Excel too! Thanks for the feedback.
Your response is now archived in Google along with the keyword HovText. Gord On Tue, 03 Oct 2006 18:12:21 +0200, horst wrote: Thank you for your suggestions, but I have found the cause.
