Cant open XLS file via explorer
Interesting fault. Involves Excel only. Can not open all excel file from
explorer or via shortcuts. Comes up with an error of path or part of document cannot be found. The document opens fine if you open Excel and drill down through the directory to the file select it and open. Have reinstalled Office 2000 and SP1. No other users are having the same problem. Word, Access etc are fine. Just Excel. Also have recreated shortcuts and moved and copied files to the local drive, still the same. |
Sometimes one of these works:
Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it) --- or --- Close Excel and Windows Start Button|Run excel /unregserver then Windows Start Button|Run excel /regserver The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's factory defaults.
