Very annoying prob with the Office / Excel "Beta 2 Technical Refre
I had been running the Beta 2 of Office no problem. When I installed the
Technical Refresh, I now have a problem where Excel will not open any Excel files. Each time I get a dialogue box indicating that Excel can't open the doc b/c my virus software is not up-to-date or b/c there is a virus. There isn't - and I've checked and updated my AV software. Excel will open NO other Excel files, 2007 Beta 2 or 2003. Any suggestions would be welcome. I have tried uninstalling and reintalling the Beta as well as the Technical Refresh. I'm running AVG and Symantec Internet Security and System Works, on an Acer TravelMate 2303i running Windows XP Professional. Thanks! |

I've got the same issue across all applications (particularly word). My word
files created using the original Beta are not quarantined, and open in Wordpad (with the formatting a mess, but the text intact). Worse yet - any new word files I create can't be accessed when they've been closed. Same error stating the file is not available. I've installed the compatability upgrade - hasn't helped. Anyone else having this issue ? "arsenalamie" wrote: I had been running the Beta 2 of Office no problem. disable the office plugin in semantic and everything should work fine! "arsenalamie" wrote: I had been running the Beta 2 of Office no problem.
