how to make a back-up .xlk file
 
File|SaveAs|Tools|General Options|check the "Always create backup" box.

This is a workbook setting--so each workbook you want to have backups for needs
to have this setting changed.

(It's not like MSWord's application setting.)

So simple really. So why does it not get a mention in the help pages?

And a short search of xl2003's help didn't help me, either.
