file size & error checking
Does anyone know if turning off error checking will make file sizes smaller?
I have a spreadsheet that keeps growing is size, but only a row or two has been added. There are a ton of the green triangles in it though. |

I would first try to find out why the error-checking is happening.
When you hover over one of the triangles what hint does it give? Turning off error-checking does not make a file smaller AFAIK. Perhaps you may want to try re-setting the actual used range. See Debra Dalgleish's site for info. http://www.contextures.on.ca/xlfaqApp.html#Unused Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Mon, 25 Sep 2006 14:27:01 -0700, runaero wrote: Does anyone know if turning off error checking will make file sizes smaller? The errors are things like divide by zero. I am also resetting the ranges.
It's not my spread sheet I am looking at it for a friend and was curious about whether or not the green triangles made the file larger. They had about 15 sheets and all of the ranges needed to be reset so that made the file quite a bit smaller. Thanks for your help.
