2 versions of Excel file opens
I'm not sure if this is an error or just some setting we accidently
triggered. When we double click on a certain file there are two versions of the same file that open simultaneously. One list the file name in the window as a ":1" and the other a ":2". All other files are working normally it's just this one. We did a save as to another name but still the same issue. Please help. |

You have opened a second window into that same workbook.
If you want to close one, just click on it and hit ctrl-w Remember to save the workbook before you close--else you'll be doing it again. Debra Dalgleish has some instructions with pictures: http://contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#TwoWindows This can be caused by using: Window|New window (maybe followed by window|arrange) It can be quite useful to see different ares of the same workbook (even same worksheet) at the same time. ddate wrote: I'm not sure if this is an error or just some setting we accidently triggered.
