Auto-import csv into Excel?
We have a corporate database with inflexible reporting facilities and want to
export the data as a csv on a regular basis (certainly weekly, possibly even overnight) and then have an Excel file that will automatically refresh itself by picking up the csv data and importing it, from where we can produce all our custom reports, all nicely formatted just how we want them. We have done all this on a manual basis and it achieves exactly what we want. Also we know how to set up the automatic export of a csv from the corp system. Question is, how to automate the import process i.e. instruct Excel to go look for the updated data at a certain time and import it and create a new file. Suggestions, please? Thanks CW |
