will macro created in excell 2003 work if run using 2000

I am trying to run a macro using excel 2000. The file/macro being worked on
was created using excel 2003. I run into errors.

Is this on a/c of the 2 different excel versions

Can you provide more description of the files and macros? It is possible
that the issues are caused by version differences but there are usually ways
to get around this.

My largest Client is a Company that has over 1000 computers. There are many
versions of Excel there but 97 is in the greatest number. I have experienced
many problems trying to write code in newer versions and expecting it to work
backwards to the earlier versions. Many times it will, many times it won't.
I've learned the hard way to write everything in '97 for this Client......and
by doing so, all the code seems to work in the newer versions also and I
don't have those problems anymore.
